Weil submersible motors are not oil filled. Weil submersible motors are air filled and meet Federal EPA and California requirements prohibiting installation of pump electric motors filled with dielectric oil. Check with state EPA offices to confirm local requirements.
Weil Pump will not be liable for any oil release from any Weil submersible motor which has been filled with oil by a service agency, pump installer, contractor, or user.
An engineering specification calling for an oil filled motor does not release an installer from liability. The installer and specifying engineer could be cited on the same EPA claim.
